Executive Biographies
Christopher Tanner, CEO
As Chief Executive and Chief Architect, Mr. Tanner provides vision, direction,
and leadership for Emdigo. Mr. Tanner is considered one of the world's foremost
experts on advanced graphics software architecture. Prior to co-founding Emdigo,
Mr. Tanner was the original founder of Intrinsic Graphics - establishing both
team and vision. As Intrinsic's Chief Architect, Mr. Tanner was responsible
for architecture, technology direction, and evangelism of the highly acclaimed
Intrinsic Alchemy(TM) software video game platform. In addition, Mr. Tanner
was the original creator of the product vision and patented technology that
is now known as Google Earth. Previously,
Mr. Tanner spent years at Silicon Graphics where he worked on everything from
parallel software architectures to graphics hardware feature design and verification,
playing an integral role in establishing the IRIS Performer middleware as a
worldwide industry standard. Mr. Tanner graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton
University with a BSE-CS. He has several patents issued from both Intrinsic
Graphics and Silicon Graphics.
Steve Gleitsmann, President
Mr. Gleitsmann has an impressive 16 year record of accomplishments in business
development, intellectual property licensing and general management. In his
role as Emdigo's President, Mr. Gleitsmann is responsible for the company's
business strategy, sales and operations. Prior to co-founding Emdigo, Mr. Gleitsmann
was the first business executive at Intrinsic Graphics where he established
and managed the company's strategic partnerships as well as all of its licensing
activities. Mr. Gleitsmann also held the positions of General Manager with Metabyte
Inc, Vice President of Worldwide Sales with Jazz Multimedia Inc, and he was
co-founder and Managing Director of Indigo Systems GmbH, a successful software
company in Hanover, Germany. Mr. Gleitsmann, who relocated to the United States
in 1997, was educated as an electrical engineer in the city of Hamburg in Germany.
Mr. Gleitsmann is active in the IGDA (International Game Developer Association),
the Licensing Executives Society and has co-authored several articles and papers
about intellectual property licensing in the interactive entertainment industry.
Rory Mather, Vice President of Design & Production
Mr. Mather is responsible for directing design, overseeing content production.
Mr. Mather brings over a decade of experience in interface design, software
development, process development, and management. As Lead Interface Designer
with Caresoft, Inc., Mr. Mather designed all user interfaces including its flagship
patient-doctor communication system. Mr. Mather was Chief Architect for AsiaMD,
an online medical resource in Asia, as well as serving in a range of software
development and management roles throughout his career. As a Senior Consultant
with the multi-million dollar MW2 Consulting firm, Mr. Mather worked with Fortune
500 companies such as Hewlett Packard and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Prior to Emdigo,
Mr. Mather led two very well-received redesigns of web-based systems for the
University of Hawaii. Both are accessed daily by over 50,000 students, faculty
and staff from 10 campuses across 6 islands. Mr. Mather holds a BS in Symbolic
Systems from Stanford University where he graduated with honors.
Jenny Zhao, Vice President of Engineering
Ms. Zhao oversees all of Emdigo's engineering and core technology development
activities. Prior to joining Emdigo, Ms. Zhao was Engineering Director of the
Advanced Graphics Division at Silicon Graphics where she was responsible for
all of SGI's graphics APIs including IRIS Performer, Optimizer, Volumizer, Inventor,
and OpenGL. Most recently, Ms. Zhao managed the West Coast office of Activision
subsidiary Vicarious Visions, one of the largest handheld game developers in
the U.S. During her tenure at Vicarious Visions, Ms. Zhao managed the Alchemy
game engine technology and supported the production of many major video game
titles such as X-men Legends and Gradius. Ms. Zhao received her MS in Computer
Science from Princeton University and a BS in EECS from University of Illinois
at Chicago.
